Nostalgia Purists Stamp

This comes up a lot in the Pokemon fandom-- you know, the people who refuse to acknowledge the existance of any pokemon past Mew?
Sonic fandom, too-- you get a LOT there, with people who ignore everything post-Sonic 3 and Knuckles, post-SA2...

Yeah, maybe you don't like them.
But it's obnoxious, childish, and irritating to pretend the games just don't exist. If you don't like them, don't play them. Nobody's forcing you to train that Turtwig, nobody's forcing you to play as Shadow, nobody's (insert thing relevant to your game of your choice here).
And they're not bad just because they're not the originals. Sure, they may be bad on their own merits, but Sonic 2006 sucks because it's a terrible game with bad control and storyline, not because it came after SA2.

Sure. Later entries may be bad.
But dislike by you, or even a bunch of people, does not nonexistance make.

Dislike them all you want-- hell, I pretty openly loathe a few of the post-SA2 Sonic games (the handhelds, parts of Sonic Heroes, and all of Sonic Unleashed get a pass). But the nostalgia filter? Turn it off for once.
