Veal's More Tragic Stamp by Spikytastic Veal's More Tragic Stamp by Spikytastic
:|

It's a hundred times more tragic.
If you really love "all animals" then maybe you should start caring about these "dumb dairy animals" instead of your big dumb doggies.
Nothing like systematic young animal abuse because it "tastes good" being treated as unimportant becuase they're not ~*mystical*~ and ~*beautiful*~.

People think that wolves are more important than cows :iconmingplz:
Last time I checked, wolves didn't waist their lives to be our food.
Most of the cows that I met were sweethearts and wouldn't hurt a soul, but wolves and the other hand would rip you to pieces and eat you without another thought. Same with chickens, if you grew up around them, you'd know that each of them have their own individual personaliy. Just like humans..

Cows and chickens

I prefer deer~
Caught by my bro to  keep the population from EXPLODING.

I don't approve of factories, but what can people do? You would have to be important as fuck to change it at all.

I haven't tried veal, but it sounds good as a meal. I do feel sorry for those baby lambs. Though I wonder why can't they wait till the lamb is full grown?

As much as I believe in humans over animals and I love meat, I don't think any animal should be consumed if they are a baby.

I love all animals, and if they must be killed, i would like to see them go in a necessary, human, and reasonable way. Not for sport.

No kidding!
Just seconds after the baby animal is able to get up, they herd it
to its gory death in the slaughterhouse.
That's more tragic than a wolf getting hit by a car or something.
The baby didn't even get a chance to experience life!

yes, there's a HUGE difference between animal rights and welfare ^^
though it's odd, i've heard of those animal rights people going batshit over people raising cows and farm animals for food. when will people learn that humans were built to eat meat!?

Exactly...
Its unfair when people go on the streets and make riots about not killing animals for fur, then go home and eat a nice big veal. Hypocrites.

When I was younger I found out what veal was and I nearly cried.

I'm not against killing animals, but I'm against killing them in such a horrible way and I'm against just killing for meat. My ancestors were Native Americans so I strongly believe in killing an animal and using all its parts.

I have to start buying free-range or something >n>

WELL. If you don't kill the wolves, there are too many.. If that happens, things go out of control. And then, people are killing wolves an wolfaboos be leik: STOP! DEY NEVA DED ANEDING 2 U!   And people be leik: THEY KILLED MY LIVESTOCK AND THERE'S JUST TOO MANY OF THEM.

Oh man, I will never eat veal. My cousins bought a veal calf and are raising him to adulthood only to eat him later. But hey, he's having a good life in the meantime. They treat him good, let him go in nice grassy fields...
(They're farmers btw)

This is why I buy all my meat/eggs/milk from local free-range farms. :I

Isn't foie gras liver from geese where they force feed geese to make their livers all fat and soft or something?
Reply
:iconapolu:
apolu Featured By Owner Sep 3, 2010
Yup, pretty much. Generally achieved by sticking a tube down the goose's through and pumping a special grain mix in, and keeping the goose as immobilized as possible so it can't work off the fat.

I don't support horribly treating cows, at all, but I hate to say that it does taste good. That's why we only eat veal or animals that usually we know are treated kindly, allowed to roam freely or be fed well. I'd never eat veal that isn't allowed to roam free.

They're edible. If they're edible (well ok, traditionally used as stock.) then they're stupid herd beasts that have no rights whatsoever.

You should have seen the fuss raised when a Tongan here ate his dog. (It's what's done in his culture if you can't feed the things.) Animal rights have never been humanity's most logical dispute.

Indeed they are, especially in my country. Most animals are, but we like to divide them into two groups, those that are kept ONLY for eating and those which are hardly eaten at all. This is why we chow down on hamburger, but most people won't touch horse mince. Because horses, near identical to cows mind, aren't 'food animals'. Conversely people will look at you strange if you enter a cow into a riding competition. www.youtube.com/watch?v=18UPCJ…

So in general the horrid torture of animals is perfectly fine, as long as those animals are the stupid, only for eating kind. This makes perfect sense.

Well of course you can but that usually costs more money and we're saving all our money for specialist cat foods that cost more per can than a weeks worth of aid to a Nigerian family.

Poorly treated animals=bad meat and products though, right?

Why do you need specialty cat food?
Reply
:iconziblink:
Ziblink Featured By Owner Jul 1, 2014  Hobbyist Photographer
It's a tradeoff between cost and quality. By and large you can mistreat an animal quite a lot before the quality of the product begins to suffer and you can always hide that. Chicken now is bland compared to free range or wild shot but most people have never had quality chicken and will settle for low quality chicken anyway. We eat sausages and nuggets made from minced scraps and drink dyed sugar water. When it comes to price people will pick the cheapest.

People need specialty cat food and high rise cat baskets and dog massagers and pet psychics because they love specific animals as much as they would children and therefore wish to dote huge amounts of money and love upon them while ignoring everything else.
